Promotion/Graduation Rehearsal and Ceremony (updated 5/20/24)

Monday, May 20                                                            Graduation/Promotion Rehearsal (1-3pm)

Wednesday, May 22                                                       Graduation/Promotion (6pm)

Graduation Rehearsal

Graduation Rehearsal is on Monday, May 20 at 1pm
Please arrive around 12:30pm so that students have time to get into their gowns for the class photo.  We will do that before rehearsing.  We also have a lower school parent volunteer to take individual photos.  I'll set up some sort of Google drive for that later.

Attire:  They are to arrive in their church clothes for the rehearsal (usually what they will be wearing to the actual graduation).  It's easier to have a full dress rehearsal so we can make sure gowns fit right with clothes underneath.  Also, proper attire looks better for photos.

Typical/Suggested Attire

Girls:  Dress and nice shoes (no tennis shoes or flip flops) since shoes will be showing in photos.  Make sure to have hair done, jewelry, etc.

Boys:  Nice shirt, tie, slacks and dress shoes (no tennis shoes or flip flops) since shoes will be showing in photos.

They will wear their gowns for photos and for rehearsal.  They will leave gowns at the church for the graduation.

Ceremony

Graduation Ceremony is Wednesday, May 22nd at 6pm it is a full mass with awards.  Plan on about 1 ½ hours.

Please have student arrive at 5:30pm to church

Do not leave the church gown on Monday or on Graduation day.  You must turn in your gown to Mrs. Gavin/Mrs. Connors to receive your end of year packet.

May 16th - Gift of Light Luncheon and Ceremony as of 5/15/2024

Thursday, May 16th

10:45 am - Clap Out

8th grade students will walk throughout the school while the younger students cheer and clap for them!  They will begin in their classrooms and make their way to the parish hall for the luncheon.  Parents can cheer them on outside or if you want to go inside to watch you absolutely can but I suggest getting there early as you'll have to sign in and receive a badge.  If you want to bring noise makers, horns, etc. you can!

11am - Luncheon

Lunch will begin once everyone has walked over from the clap out.  Lunch will be served by 7th grade parents and students.  Lunch menu consists of Lasagna and Fettuccine Alfredo with salad, dessert, water and tea.  During the luncheon we will watch videos from over the years with a few speakers.  The lunch will move quickly as we'll need to be at church before the 1pm ceremony.

1pm - Gift of Light Ceremony

The ceremony will begin at 1pm in the church.  All school will be in attendance.  It usually lasts about an hour.

If you plan on taking your student home after the ceremony, the 8th grade homeroom teachers will have a sign out sheet so that you do not have to go back to the school office.

Notes:

Students must wear the required uniform with their sweater.  Please make sure there are no holes, missing buttons, etc.
